Mumtaz Kanchwala

My name is Mumtaz Kanchwala and I am one of the Beginning Toddlers teachers at Mansio Montessori. I have been at Mansio for 20 years now and I have loved every second of it. I completed my high school, and college education in Karachi, Pakistan, and was fortunate to complete the Montessori training for ages 0-3 in 2012.

I have always enjoyed working with children, but I specifically enjoy being able to see their growth and development in all aspects at the beginning toddler stage. I feel we can learn more from kids than we can teach. My favorite thing about the Montessori method is that it utilizes a “Follow the Child” theory, in which we are to take a step back and allow the child to explore their surroundings.

When I am not working, I enjoy relaxing with tea, watching Netflix, and reading fiction and non-fiction books. I have been a member of the Kane County community with my husband for 33 years, and I have two kids.

I feel incredibly fortunate and grateful to be a part of the Mansio Montessori family for two decades, and I am looking forward to the years to come.
