About Mansio Montessori
Mansio Montessori of Geneva has been educating children in the Fox Valley community since 1981 and has had the privilege of being like a second home to hundreds of students during their preschool and kindergarten years. Nestled in a residential neighborhood, one block from the scenic Fox River, Mansio Montessori of Geneva is located in a renovated 3,000 square foot residence, which is home to five classrooms.
Our programs start as early as 15 months and go through kindergarten. During these crucial early years at Mansio, our students gain not just essential skills for their future educational journey such as reading, writing, and math, but foundational life skills such as critical thinking and problem solving by exploring their environment through hands-on learning. With a warm, caring environment and independent active learning, students naturally build self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-reliance and resilience that they carry with them throughout their lives.
Our Philosophy
MMOG follows the philosophy of Maria Montessori, developed in 1907, who felt the importance early childhood education could not be overlooked. She wrote “ The most important period of life is not the university studies, but the first one, the period from birth to six. For that is the time when man’s intelligence itself, his greatest implement, is being formed.” These environments contain specifically designed, manipulative materials for development that invite children to learn at their own pace according to their own individual style. We truly believe that a well-prepared environment will foster the child’s highest potential- spiritually, emotionally, physically, socially and intellectually. It is the teacher’s role that distinguishes Montessori from other educational approaches. Every aspect of the curriculum involves creative invention and careful, thoughtful analysis. The emphasis is on how students learn something, not the mere memorization of facts. Helping children discover how they learn at an early age helps them to become more adept, inspired learners.

Organic Lunch
Meal times are an important and essential part of daily life and, in a Montessori classroom, we place a great value not only in eating a healthy lunch, but on the experience of sharing a meal with our friends as well.
Meals are served family style and provide opportunities for students to practice independence and to develop important life skills such as table setting, manners, and clean up. Sharing meals as a family also gives children practice in grace and courtesy – waiting for all of our friends to be seated and served their food before eating and using polite communication such as “yes, please” and “no, thank you.”
Mansio lunches are brought in by local caterer OrganicLife. OrganicLife prides itself on using only the finest, freshest ingredients and strives to obtain a majority of their ingredients from local, organic purveyors and are proud to serve foods that are natural and free of artificial growth hormones and artificial preservatives.
