If you are looking for a Montessori preschool in Willow Creek that believes in nurturing children to promote a healthy and balanced lifestyle, Mansio Montessori can help! Read on to learn more about how Mansio invests in building your child’s academic, social, and emotional foundations.
Mansio Montessori of Geneva has been educating children in the Fox Valley community since 1981 and has had the privilege of being like a second home to hundreds of students during their preschool and kindergarten years. Nestled in a residential neighborhood, one block from the scenic Fox River, Mansio Montessori of Geneva is located in a renovated 3,000 square foot residence, which is home to five classrooms.
Our programs start as early as 15 months and go through kindergarten. During these crucial early years at Mansio, our students gain not just essential skills for their future educational journey such as reading, writing, and math, but foundational life skills such as critical thinking and problem solving by exploring their environment through hands-on learning. With a warm, caring environment and independent active learning, students naturally build self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-reliance and resilience that they carry with them throughout their lives.
The leaves are beginning to turn different shades and hues, the pumpkin spice lattes are in full bloom, and sweater weather is almost upon us! Are you excited for the change of seasons and all things fall-themed? We want your preschooler to share the same excitement and embrace the changing scenery around them! Below, we explore five fall preschool activities for those near a Willow Creek Montessori preschool, or those living between Elburn and Sugar Grove.
How many types of vegetables can your preschooler name? Can they name a vegetable for every color of the rainbow?
At the Spring Bluff Nursery, you can schedule the ultimate fall preschool activity by visiting the U-Pick Vegetable Garden and exploring the different crops from turnips to cabbage! With a community-supported agriculture and family-owned property, you can not only enhance your child’s Montessori experience but also support your local community.
Apple picking is a renowned Midwest pastime, so it’s exciting to share the tradition with your eager little one.
Where should you go apple picking? Take a fifteen-minute drive to Kuipers in Maple Park and enjoy their family-friendly fall activities! When you get hungry after a morning of apple picking, stopover at their Orchard Shop & Bakery to indulge in soft apple cider doughnuts, snack on fresh fudge, and quench your thirst with fresh-pressed apple cider.
Want to enhance your child’s experience with a Montessori integration? Begin an apple unit by exploring the cycle from seed to sapling, tree, and apple. Then, create a sorting station where your preschooler can add apples (red felt or wooden balls) to their basket and count how many they have!
The natural elements showcase an unrefined brilliance, especially during the transition from summer to fall. By stopping by the nearby Almon Underwood Prairie Nature Preserve, you can enhance your Montessori nature units!
Want to draw inspiration from your surroundings? Bring a picnic blanket, paper, and either watercolor paints or colored pencils for your preschooler to explore realism by tracing leaves, painting a landscape, or utilizing their creativity in other ways!
With your neighborhood trees preparing for fall, your sidewalks and lawns might soon fill with various leaves, seeds, acorns, and pinecones. As a result, take your preschooler on a neighborhood nature walk and have them complete a scavenger hunt for various leaves, seeds, and other items!
After collecting your scavenger hunt items, return home with your new belongings, and explore which trees the leaves and seeds belong to! Then, explore sensory development by distinguishing textures, smells, and sounds associated with each item.
What’s autumn without a traditional visit or two to the pumpkin patch and classic family photo? With pumpkin season starting as early as September 18th of 2021, grab your flannel and explore the various colors, shapes, and sizes of pumpkins available at Kuipers!
In addition to picking the perfect pumpkin for your front porch, dining table, or new craft activity, you can explore direction and navigation with a corn maze, practice object permanence with the jumping pillow, get an up-close and personal animal interaction with the petting zoo, and develop agility with the Tractor Tire Mountain! At Kuipers, you can enjoy a fun-filled fall-themed day with your preschooler with endless opportunities for fun and learning.
As part of the preschool curriculum we practice, the methods implemented at Mansio are distinctive, deeply contrasting traditional schooling. Furthermore, we understand the value of recognizing individual strengths and weaknesses during a child’s early education.
To best achieve this, we tailor the education to each student and center our attention on a child-centered learning environment as opposed to one that is standardized. Within our multi-age classrooms, we believe there are unique learning and leadership opportunities to be found through socialization and children teaching other children in hands-on, play-focused education. As a result, most graduates from our program excel in reading, math, development, and maturation promoting self-regulation and social consciousness.
Although you can begin Montessori learning at any age, solidifying core Montessori methods during the first plane of development rewards great results.
